"The Story of the Crucifixion" begins many places,

but mine begins with the woman at the well,

when Jesus stopped to get a drink of water.

 The woman was very damaged,

 having been married many times.

Still, Christ loved her, because she believed in him.

 Those last days he lived,

Jesus roamed the earth,

teaching and preaching and doing miracles.

 Many followed him.

A group of women followed him from place to place,

taking care of him,

His twelve disciples were with him.

 Jesus spoke in parables.

He fed the multitudes with one fish.

 He walked on the water.

He taught about love and forgiveness,

that the truth sets us free.

He said for us to love one another,

 as we love ourselves.

Can we expect to be forgiven,

if we cannot or will not forgive others?

Many thought him a mystic, a knave, or a trickster.

Many believed he was the son of God.

 He was very loved.

But he was also mistrusted and hated.

Most people did not know what to think of Jesus.

He loved Mary and Martha and Lazarus.

 When Mary cried,

because her brother Lazarus was dead,

 Jesus wept too,

((  One of two times we know of that Jesus wept.
(John 11:35)
Second time we know of that Jesus wept,
was over the City of Jerusalem.
(Luke 19:41)  ))

Then he raised Lazarus from the dead.

 After that he went on.

 During the Last Supper,

Jesus gave his disciples bread, the body of Jesus.

 And wine, the blood.

Do this often in remembrance of me, he said.

He washed the feet of his disciples.

That night he was betrayed by Judas,

 and captured by Roman soldiers.

 He was taken to Pilate,

who found no wrong in him,

but ordered him to be crucified anyway.

He placed a crown of thorns on Jesus' head,

a purple robe on his shoulders.

He named him "The King of the Jews."

Jesus was led to Skull Hill.

He faltered and Simon helped him carry his cross.

He was crucified, died, and was buried in a tomb.

Mary visited the tomb the third day,

 the rock was rolled back.

An angel told her that Jesus was arisen from the dead.

She ran to tell the disciples.

 Jesus visited with his disciples,

before he ascended into heaven to be with his Father.

All this is written down in the Bible,

in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
